The first crews selected for IOT&E testing of the KC-46 are undergoing initial training at McConnell AFB. McConnell is the home of the only KC-135R/T aircraft, which are capable of being refueled in flight. The KC-46 will have to take on fuel during testing, so the crews are having to learn how to fly behind the tanker for the first time, and connect to the boom. After training the crew members will go to Miami and Seattle for Boeing training on actual KC-46 aircraft, before eventually performing IOT&E. www.af.mil/News/ArticleDisplay/tabid/223/Article/759374/total-force-effort-trains-future-kc-46-pilots.aspx
