On May 3, 2013, KC-135R 63-8877 took off from Manas in the Kyrzyg Republic, and crashed 6 miles south of Chaldovar. All three crew members were killed in the accident. The aircraft suffered a yaw dampener malfunction that caused them to enter a dutch roll condition. Rudder inputs, autopilot use, and the yaw dampener all led to the aircraft breaking apart and crashing.
