The new head of Boeing Defense, Space & Security, Leanne Caret is keeping a close eye on the KC-46. The program has currently cost Boeing $1.5B in pre-tax charges, and is poised to cost more money. They currently have 4 EMD aircraft, one production aircraft in testing, with seven in final assembly, and eight in the supply chain, all funded by Boeing. All of them will require modification before being delivered to the Air Force. The plan is to fly the boom fix in July, with the C-17, A-10, and F-16. If that's verified, then in August they meet with the Defense Acquisition Board for the Milestone C decision. Boeing plans to offer a modified KC-46 for the KC-Y program when that goes into bidding. aviationweek.com/defense/boeing-defense-chief-focused-righting-troubled-kc-46

As completely as they've screwed up the KC-46, do you REALLY want to see how bad they can do with a 777 tanker?

Sell the triples to Airbus and let them do it.
