The Sri Lankan Air Force is planning to buy 2 ex-RAF C-130Ks from Marshall Aerospace. Marshall Aerospace will overhaul the aircraft and install modernized avionics on each aircraft, before selling to the SLAF for $17.5M each after the work is done. The reason this is being called a scam is because Marshall bought the aircraft as scrap metal for $2.5M each, and restoring them to flying status would only cost an additional $6-8M if they were bought at the original price. alert5.com/2016/06/12/controversial-plan-by-slaf-to-buy-2-ex-raf-c-130ks/
