An artificial intelligence system, dubbed ALPHA, was recently developed that allowed the evasion and defeat a veteran combat fighter pilot/instructor in every protracted situation they faced each other in simulated engagements. ALPHA was developed by a doctor at the University of Cincinnati for the AFRL and is a step closer to the real prospect of unmanned fighter jets able to take on and defeat some of the worlds best and highly trained fighter pilots in any 1v1 situation.
